NASHUA – Those looking to enjoy some Tex-Mex-style cuisine at Chili’s Grill & Bar on Amherst Street will not get to do so beyond this month, The Telegraph has learned.

Friday, kitchen manager Shawn Rhoden said the store is closing later this month, though he did not confirm reports that it would be as early as this weekend. He said the 30-35 employees at the restaurant should have the opportunity to remain with the company.

“The ones that want to move on will be allowed,” Rhoden said.

Now, Nashua will be down to just one Chili’s, located at 285 Daniel Webster Hwy. In total, New Hampshire will have seven locations after this closing. The remaining restaurants are located in Nashua, Dover, Seabrook, Keene, Salem, Tilton and West Lebanon. There are other locations close by just south of the stateline in Lowell and Westford, Massachusetts.

Chili’s was founded in Dallas, Texas in 1975 and has since extended its reach to 32 countries. Today, there are more than 1,600 restaurant locations spread across all 50 states and the globe, reaching as far as the Philippines.

However, New Hampshire will now have one less location, saying goodbye to the Big Mouth Burgers and Molten Chocolate Cake served on Amherst Street.
