NASHUA – A sinkhole occurred in the area of 301 Main St. in August – another one opened Friday morning down the road near the intersection of Main and Allds streets.

At around 8 a.m., a sinkhole measuring about 6 feet by 6 feet opened in the street. This led to the closure of one of the southbound lanes on Main Street for a few hours.

Crews from the Nashua Division of Public Works were out performing a temporary patch job until a more permanent repair can be made. As of Friday afternoon, the situation was still being assessed.

“It turned out there was a depression in the roadway in that location,” division spokeswoman Lauren Byers said. “An engineer went out and took a closer look and it was actually a sinkhole.”

Byers said crews filled the hole with stone. Crews will be back out on Sunday to do more work. She said all the sewers are working, and everything is flowing with no disruption of any services.
