Carolyn Anne (Shattuck) Airey

Carolyn Anne (Shattuck) Airey, 58, died December 26, 2015, at her home in Mason, NH.

She was born September 21, 1957 in Lowell, MA, to the late Fred and Shirley (Lundeen) Shattuck. Carolyn graduated from Groton-Dunstable High School in 1976 and Rivier College in 2006.

Carolyn enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, exploring and observing nature. She had the ability to accomplish anything she put her mind to, from chair caning to stonewall building. She was artistically talented and her family shares memories of her natural ability to sew, craft, and restore beauty to old spaces and treasures. Above all, Carolyn loved spending time with children. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and was passionate about her work in the classroom at Lyndeborough Central School in Lyndeborough, NH.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joseph; three children, Jason Airey, Kate Vaillancourt and her husband Jarrod, and Alexandra Airey; six grandchildren, Isaac, Heather, Anastasia, Isabel, Griffin and Vivian; brothers, Lawrence and Fred Shattuck; and sister DiAnne Demmons. She is also survived by her in laws Marilyn and Joseph Airey Sr.

She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley Shattuck; father, Fred Shattuck; and brother, John Shattuck.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 11 AM at the Congregational Church of Dunstable 518 Main St. Dunstable, MA. Visiting hours will be held Monday, January 4, 5-8 pm at the Hamilton-McGaffigan Funeral Home 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA.
