Nashua Garden Club to host ‘Inspired Garden Design Lessons from Magnificent Gardens’ on Feb. 7

NASHUA – The Nashua Garden Club invites residents to attend its February gardening program, “Inspired Garden Design Lessons from Magnificent Gardens” presented by award-winning garden design consultant, educator and author, Kerry Ann Mendez.
The timing could not be better as gardeners begin to plan for the upcoming growing seasons. The program will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 7, at the First Baptist Church, 121 Manchester St. in Nashua.
Mendez is an inspirational educational speaker who enjoys mingling humor with down-to-earth, garden-transforming expertise. She has given numerous lectures, workshops, and classes across the United States and Canada. More than 40,000 gardeners have attended her 400-plus lectures at various garden clubs, symposiums, Master Gardeners events, fundraisers, arboretums, garden shows and other events. She has also authored many articles and four popular gardening books: The Budget-Wise Gardener: Plant the Best for Less!, The Right-Size Flower Garden: Simplify Your Outdoor Space with Smart Design Solutions and Plant Choices, The Ultimate Flower Gardener’s Top Ten Lists: 70 Garden-transforming Theme Lists and Strategies for Growing Gorgeous, Low-maintenance Gardens and Top Ten Lists for Beautiful Shade Gardens. Her columns and articles have been published in a number of publications including Fine Gardening, Country Gardens, Mother Earth News, and Horticulture, 518Life and Today’s Garden Center.
During the program Mendez will use stunning gardens as examples and discuss how the designers utilized striking design essentials that elevated these gardens from ordinary to sublime, across hardiness zones and sunlight conditions. Attendees will learn how to consider texture, movement, color, repetition, garden accessories, focal points and vertical elements as they plan their own garden spaces. All are welcome to attend this inspiring session and takeaway tips to apply to their own yards.
