Manchester mother clocked at more than 100 mph
RAYMOND – With her two young children in tow, Shirley Stanley, 23, of Manchester, was arrested on the evening of May 3 after State Police reportedly clocked her traveling 112 miles per hour on Rt. 101 in Raymond.
According to the state Department of Transportation, that section of Rt. 101 has a posted speed limit of 65 mph.
At 9:17 p.m., police observed Stanley in a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV “weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.”
Police allege that Stanley’s children, ages one and four, were not wearing seatbelts or any other child restraints.
Stanley has since been charged with reckless operation, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of violating required child passenger restraints, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, unsafe lane change, following too closely and speeding.
She is scheduled to be arraigned in Candia District Court on June 10.
Under state law, if convicted, Stanley could face up to $1,962 in fines, up to 17 days in jail and having her driver’s license suspended for up to 60 days.
