NASHUA – Constance Stewart, 36, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Aug. 3 for being in possession of electronic devices valued at more than $1,500.

According to Nashua Police, on Aug. 3, officers received a report of a car that had been broken into at 25 Trafalgar Sq.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, reportedly told police that her backpack, along with a number of electronic devices, had been taken.

However, one of the devices was equipped with a tracking feature. This allowed the victim to keep officers updated in real time as to the location of the electronics. A short time later, police reportedly found Stewart and recovered the stolen items.

Stewart was placed under arrest at the scene. She refused bail and was scheduled for arraignment in Nashua District Court on Aug. 5.

Sgt. John Cinelli, spokesperson for the Nashua Police Department, said although Stewart may not have initially stolen the electronics, she was the one who was found in possession of the devices. Therefore, she is charged with receiving stolen property.

Under state law, if convicted, Stewart could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $4,000.
