Maryland man charged in domestic violence incident
NASHUA – Umar Mansaray, 34, of Gaithersburg, Md., was recently taken into custody by Nashua Police in connection with a domestic violence incident.
According to police, officers responded on Aug. 31 to a residence where the female victim told them that her boyfriend, Mansaray, had “physically assaulted her several times throughout the night.”
The victim’s identity as well as the time and location of the incident have not been released.
She also reportedly told police that Mansaray would not let her go to the hospital and threatened to physically harm her family.
The victim was ultimately taken to the hospital with non-threatening injuries and Mansaray was arrested at the scene.
Mansaray is charged with four counts of domestic violence – simple assault, four counts of second degree assault – domestic violence, criminal restraint – domestic violence, nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images, obstructing the report of crime or injury, violation of privacy and domestic violence – criminal threatening.
Mansaray was held on preventative detention at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 3.
Under state law, if convicted, Mansaray could face up to 25 years in prison, up to 15 years probation and up to $20,000 in fines.
