Nashua man charged with robbery and drug possession
NASHUA – Ahmed Abukar, 28, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Sept. 29 in connection with an alleged robbery at Temple and Main streets.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers arrived at the scene at 10:07 a.m. where they found a juvenile victim who had “several items taken from him.”
Police later found Abukar at a homeless encampment near the Temple Street footpath. Officers reported that in addition to having numerous stolen items, Abukar was also in possession of fentanyl. Abukar was placed under arrest at that time. As officers continued their investigation, they learned that Abukar was out on bail.
He was held on preventative detention at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 30.
Abukar has been charged with falsifying physical evidence and possession of a controlled drug (fentanyl).
Under state law, if convicted, Abukar could face up to 14 years in prison, up to 10 years probation and up to $8,000 in fines.
