CONCORD – Merrimack County Savings Bank will be hosting a sock drive throughout the month of October in partnership with #NHBanksGiveBack, a volunteer celebration organized by the New Hampshire Bankers Association.

Socks for men, women and children are always in demand, yet they are the least donated item for those in need.

“Socks are an everyday essential and an invaluable necessity to those without permanent housing,” said bank President Linda Lorden. “A new pair of socks can make all the difference but we can’t do it without the generosity of the community.”

Donations will be distributed to local nonprofit organizations including:

-The Concord Coalition to End Homelessness

-Families in Transition in Manchester

-The Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter

-The Upper Room in Derry

-Waypoint in Manchester

-The White Birch Center in Henniker

To help make a difference locally, drop off new socks at any of The Merrimack’s nine locations.
