CONCORD – Jose Miguel Ramirez Vasquez, 32, of Nashua, was recently sentenced to 33 years to life in prison for the August 2022 murder of Julie Graichen.

Vasquez can apply to have three years taken off the minimum sentence provided he has no major prison disciplinary infractions during the next five years.

According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Vasquez illegally immigrated to the U.S. from Honduras in June 2022.

Nashua Police responded to the apartments at 13 Kinsley St. on Aug. 5, 2022 where they found Graichen, who had been stabbed to death.

Vasquez pled guilty to second degree murder on Aug. 26 of this year and his immigration status is currently subject to federal analysis.

According to her obituary, Graichen, who was 34 at the time, was a 2006 graduate of Nashua High School North and went on to attend Nashua Community College.

A talented hula hoop performer, she often attracted large crowds at local music festivals and was fondly known as “Julie Hoops.”
