Nashua man charged with stalking, domestic violence
NASHUA – Stephen Stuart, 51, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Nov. 22 and again on Nov. 25 in connection with an incident involving stalking and domestic violence.
According to the Nashua Police Department, Stuart was initially taken into custody on Nov. 22 on several domestic violence charges. As a result, he was issued a Criminal Bail Protection Order.
Two days later, the female victim, whose identity has not been released, allegedly told police that Stuart called her from jail on Nov. 24. This action was in direct violation of the Criminal Bail Protection Order. During the phone conversation, Stuart reportedly told the victim to lie for him in court.
The next day, the victim called the police again to report that Stuart had entered her apartment and was “attempting to gather belongings.” He was placed under arrest a short time later.
Stuart has been charged with two counts of stalking, domestic violence, violation of a protective order as well as tampering with witnesses and informants.
He was held on no bail pending his arraignment in Nashua District Court on Nov. 26.
Under state law, if convicted, Stuart could face up to 29 years in prison, up to 20 years of probation and up to $18,000 in fines.
