Hudson teen armed with machete charged with making threats
LONDONDERRY – Timothy Maghakian, 18, of Hudson, was taken into custody on Dec. 14 in connection with an incident in which he allegedly threatened three girls and a woman with a machete.
According to the Londonderry Police Department, officers responded to Planeview Drive at 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 13. Police learned that three girls, under the age 18, had stopped to watch planes fly into Manchester-Boston Regional Airport when they were approached by Maghakian’s vehicle.
The girls allegedly recognized Maghakian and a verbal altercation ensued before Maghakian left the area. In response, one of the girls called her mother who raced to the scene.
A short time later, Maghakian returned, got out of the car and began threatening the victims with a machete. However, no injuries were reported.
The victims were able to provide police with a description of Maghakian, his vehicle and the vehicle’s registration number. Officers then sent out a Be On The Lookout alert to the surrounding police departments.
At 12:30 a.m., Merrimack Police located Maghakian and took him into custody without incident. He refused bail and was taken to the Rockingham County House of Corrections.
Maghakian has been charged with four counts of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Derry District Court on Dec. 16.
Under state law, if convicted, Maghakian could face up to 28 years in prison, up to 20 years of probation and up to $20,000 in fines.
