Sunset Heights gets national recognition
NASHUA – The state Department of Education recently announced that Sunset Heights Elementary School was recognized as a National Distinguished School for its “exceptional student performance and academic growth.”
This honor is awarded each year to approximately 100 schools by the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators.
“Being recognized as one of only two New Hampshire Distinguished Schools is a tremendous honor for Sunset Heights Elementary School and a testament to the exceptional work happening here every day,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mario Andrade. “This achievement reflects the unwavering dedication of our administration, the talent and commitment of our faculty and staff, the enthusiasm and hard work of our students and the steadfast support of our entire school community. Together, we have created an environment where excellence thrives, and this recognition is a celebration of everyone who contributes to making Sunset Heights a truly distinguished place to learn and grow.”
Sunset Heights Principal Erin Anderson said she is “incredibly proud” of her teachers, students and staff.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to their hard work, collaboration and unwavering commitment to excellence,” she said. “Every day, our school community demonstrates what is possible when we come together with a shared purpose and passion. Thank you to each and every one of you for making Sunset Heights a place of inspiration and success.”
According to the state Department of Education, school representatives will take part in the hybrid National ESEA Conference in February. During the conference, the school will receive $7,500 and be formally recognized as an ESEA Distinguished School.
