Nashua woman facing charges of domestic violence, assault

NASHUA – Shayna McDonald, 39, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Jan. 17 on a felony warrant for domestic violence.

According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the city on Nov. 2, 2024. At the time, the adult male victim, whose identity has not been released, allegedly told officers that McDonald, his former spouse, had used a knife to stab him in the shoulder.

The victim also reported two more incidents that allegedly took place in March 2024. He told officers that during the first incident, McDonald threatened him with a knife and assaulted him several times using her hands. The victim said that during the second incident, McDonald hit him in the back three times with a metal bat. She also reportedly used a large kitchen knife to cut him in the shoulder.

McDonald has been charged with two counts of second degree assault – domestic violence with a deadly weapon, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon – domestic violence and six counts of domestic violence – simple assault.

She was held on preventative detention bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Jan. 17.

Under state law, if convicted, McDonald could face up to 27 years in prison, up to 15 years of probation and up to $24,000 in fines.
