Nashua mother accused of stabbing son in Congress Street apartment

NASHUA – Kimberly Medolo, 48, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Feb. 23 for allegedly stabbing her adult son.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers and emergency personnel arrived at Canterbury Apartments at 33 Congress St. where they found Medolo and her son, whose identity has not been released, engaged in a physical altercation.
After the two were separated, paramedics quickly discovered that the victim had sustained a stab wound to the back that may have punctured his lung. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were said to be serious but not life-threatening.
After furthering the investigation, detectives learned that Medolo allegedly prevented her son from leaving the first floor apartment.
Following a voluntary interview with police, Medolo reportedly began fighting with the officers and resisted arrest.
She has been charged with first degree assault-domestic violence causing serious bodily injury, criminal restraint – domestic violence, seven counts of simple assault and resisting arrest.
Medolo was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Feb. 24.
Under state law, if convicted, she could face up to 30 years in prison, up to five years probation and up to $24,000 in fines.
