NASHUA – Joshua Shea of Nashua was sentenced on March 7 to 37 years to life in prison for the stabbing death of 32-year-old Evangelos Ioannou in June 2022.

According to the state Attorney General’s Office and the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to the apartment building at 4 Marshall St. where they found Ioannou in a third floor hallway bleeding profusely. Ioannou was treated at the scene and rushed to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, Shea pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and waived his right to have his sentence reviewed or to seek statutory relief.

Shea, who was 31 at the time of the murder, also admitted that he “recklessly, with extreme indifference to the value of human life, caused the death of Mr. Ioannou.”
