City man charged in East Hollis Street stabbing

NASHUA – Jose Vasquez, 22, of Nashua, was taken into custody on March 19 in connection with an alleged stabbing.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded on March 18 to a McDonald’s restaurant on East Hollis Street where they reportedly found a 32-year-old male on the ground suffering from several stab wounds. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed.
Vasquez fled the scene before police arrived. Officers treated the victim at the scene before he was taken to the hospital where he remains in serious condition. Police suspect that Vasquez and the victim may have known each other.
Vasquez later surrendered to officers at the Nashua Police Department.
He has been charged with two counts of first degree assault with a deadly weapon and falsifying physical evidence.
Vasquez was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on March 19.
Under state law, if convicted, Vasquez could face up to 37 years in prison, up to 15 years of probation and up to $12,000 in fines.
