Bedford man nabbed for driving the wrong way on I-293

MANCHESTER – Kyle Loconte, 37, of Bedford, was taken into custody on March 17 for allegedly driving the wrong way while under the influence on Interstate 293.
According to State Police, troopers responded at 9:42 p.m. to several calls about “a vehicle traveling the wrong way and hitting multiple guardrails on I-293 near exit 2.”
When troopers located Loconte, he reportedly moved over to the correct side of the highway as he approached exit 1. A short time later, Loconte stopped his vehicle, a 2017 Subaru Forester, on South Porter Street in Manchester and was placed under arrest.
He has been charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon as well as aggravated driving while intoxicated and disobeying an officer.
Under state law, if convicted, Loconte could face up to eight years in prison, having his driver’s license suspended for up to two years and up to $6,100 in fines.
Loconte is scheduled to appear next month in Manchester District Court.
