Volunteers deliver care packs to workers
NASHUA – ASEZ WAO volunteers personally delivered 80 care packages they prepared and packaged for the essential workers at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center Emergency Room. The packages intended to encourage the healthcare workers stems from ASEZ WAO’s Heart to Heart campaign that’s taking place throughout the world. The campaign is an effort to show support to first responders and encourage those that are working at the front lines during the global pandemic.
“Essential workers in all fields have been working tirelessly during the pandemic to take care of their community,” said Karina, an ASEZ WAO volunteer. “So, the ASEZ WAO volunteers came together to show a small token of appreciation by dropping off these care packages to some of the staff in the emergency room. Although not all volunteers could be present today, the care packages contain handwritten letters from every volunteer, describing their deepest gratitude and were made with a lot of love.” “We are so grateful,” said Betsy Houde, Director of Community Partnerships.
With the rise of coronavirus cases around the country, hospitals have become overwhelmed with patients. Studies have shown that healthcare employees can be more vulnerable to anxiety, depression, burnout, insomnia and other stress-related conditions while working during the pandemic.
