NASHUA – Roughly 24 hours after he allegedly assaulted and robbed a man on Pine Street, Shaun Jerome, a 40-year-old Nashua man with no fixed address, was in police custody, charged with those allegations as well as several others accusing him of stalking a former girlfriend.

In all, Jerome was charged with one count each of simple assault and theft in connection with the alleged Pine Street incident, and four counts of stalking – domestic violence, for allegedly violating a court order by trying to call an ex-girlfriend four times in just over an hour, according to police reports.

He was arraigned Tuesday in Nashua District Court via video conference from Valley Street Jail, where he was held on $10,000 cash bail.

Jerome is ordered to have no contact with the ex-girlfriend or the victim of the alleged assault and theft, and stay at least 300 feet away from them, according to the bail orders.

He is scheduled for a pre-trial conference at 8:15 a.m. June 5 in the Nashua court.

The police officers who arrested Jerome said in their reports that they were out trying to locate him late Sunday night in connection with “an ongoing investigation.”

They came upon him at the end of North Second Street, a small street that runs between Ledge Street and the Nashua Canal.

Police said Jerome denied having any contact with the ex-girlfriend, and told officers he was recently released from jail and was currently homeless. He told them he was aware of the bail conditions that prohibited him from contacting her, police added.

But a detective said Jerome allegedly tried to contact her by phone four times between 9:47 p.m. and 11 p.m., according to the report.

The officers at that point took Jerome into custody, the report states.
