HUDSON — The School Board announced Monday it has selected Barrington educator Daniel Moulis as Hudson’s next superintendent of schools.

Moulis, superintendent of Barrington schools since 2017, will take office July 1, the start of the 2023 fiscal year. He succeeds Superintendent Lawrence Russell, who notified officials last fall that he and his family would be moving to Florida after his term ends June 30.

Moulis’s background includes service as the Barrington district’s director of operations, curriculum and instruction before he was named Barrington’s superintendent.

“Dan brings a wealth of experience as a former teacher, principal, curriculum director and superintendent,” School Board chairman Gary Gasdia said, adding that board members are “excited to welcome Dan to Hudson.”

The 10-member search committee that ultimately chose Moulis included board members, teachers, administrators, parents and town residents.

Gasdia expressed gratitude to board members Ethan Beals and Mike Campbell for leading the search committee.

Moulis said he is “looking forward to working with the teachers, staff, administrative team, school board, families, and Hudson community to support students’ academic and career goals.”

He said he plans to work with the School Board, outgoing superintendent Russell and district administrators “on a plan to provide a seamless transition.”

Moulis added he is grateful “for the opportunity to be your superintendent, and I look forward to working with the Hudson community.”
