Herbert L. Oliver
Herbert L. Oliver, 91 years old, passed away on August 12th in Richmond, VA, where he lived for the past 5 years near his son Bob and his family. For most of his life he lived in Nashua, NH and Meredith, NH. He was predeceased in death by his daughter, Shirley Oliver O’Hara; and is survived by his sons, Robert Oliver, Bradley Creel, Emory Creel, and Patric Iach. He also is survived by 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Herb served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a bombardier-navigator on a B17. He was a graduate of East Hampton High School (CT) and the University of Connecticut.
He was known throughout his life for his great energy, spirit of adventure, and generosity. He was the founder of Oliver Lodge in Meredith, NH where he entertained and built life-long relationships with his immediate family and hundreds of friends who became his large extended family.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m. September 20th at Spencer Funeral Home in East Hampton, CT followed by his burial at Lakeview Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a “celebration of his life” for all family and friends at Angelica’s Lake House overlooking Pocotopaug Lake. Of course, this is the way he would want it!
