Abigail Sarom Fitzgerald
Abigail Sarom Fitzgerald, 20, of Brookline, NH, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston of complications related to acute myocarditis. Abbie passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family and dedicated medical team.
Abigail was born on June 29, 2001, in Battambang, Cambodia and cared for by her loving Nanny at the Asia Orphanage Association in Phnom Penh until she was united with her forever family. She graduated with honors from Hollis-Brookline High School in 2019 and was currently a civil engineering major at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA.
Abigail could light up the room with her beautiful smile, sweet & sassy temperament, and zest for fun. She enjoyed family vacations, road trips and traveling to Ireland and Cambodia. She had many interests and passions including shoes and Sponge Bob. She was an accomplished Irish step dancer, varsity field hockey goalie, acapella singer, ukulele player, painter of canvas in many forms, and genuine Fashionista.
Abigail is cherished by her loving parents, Stephen and Elizabeth (Higgins) Fitzgerald of Brookline, NH; her beloved twin brother, Benjamin S. Fitzgerald of Brookline, NH; her paternal grandparents, Donald and Jeannette Fitzgerald of Braintree, MA and her maternal grandparents, the late Gerard and Mary Ellen Higgins of Braintree MA. She is the adored niece and cousin of the Fitzgeralds, Gardners and D’Apices of Braintree & Weymouth, the Zampis of Norton, Belchertown and Springfield MA, the Paliulis’ of South Windsor and Cheshire CT, and the Higgins’ and Scarboroughs of Dallas-Fort Worth TX and Stacks of San Francisco CA. She remains in the heart of her loving and devoted boyfriend Adam Lorden of Pepperell MA and many, many extended family members, friends, neighbors, classmates, teachers, team members and dance partners.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst St., Milford, NH. Burial will take place in the Spring at Lakeside Cemetery, Brookline, NH. Her family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 4 to 7 PM in the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home., 250 Main St., Townsend, MA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Abigail Sarom Fitzgerald Memorial Fund for Cambodia established through United Way of Greater Nashua. Donations will be used to support women’s empowerment, maternal and child health and safety, environmental protection and sustainable equitable communities through the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation and other worthy causes. United Way will not take fees to administer the fund and 100% of fund will go to projects in Cambodia that were important to Abbie who was an inspiration to so many of the staff and volunteers at UWGN.
