Virginia ‘Ginny’ M. O’Leary
Virginia “Ginny” M. O’Leary, 82, died peacefully at her home on January 23, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of Paul O’Leary with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Ginny was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 3, 1939 to Alan and Mary (Dio Dato) Rollins. She was fortunate to have Patrick Daley come into her life when her mother remarried after losing her father at a young age.
For many years, she was employed by Barlo Signs until her retirement.
In her free time, she enjoyed playing Mahjong as well as Bingo whenever she could. She also loved to knit, bowl, and made the most delicious desserts. In her early years she had a passion for cake decorating resulting in many awards. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her loving family.
In addition to her husband, Paul, she is survived by her five children, Sean O’Leary and his husband Walter Petruck of Haverhill, MA, Maura Colby of Nashua, Richard O’Leary of Keene, Dennis O’Leary and his wife Gina of Boston, and Rita Esquivel and her husband Gustavo of North Carolina; her 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly White of Hanson, MA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as her two friends, Judy who was her Mahjong buddy and Jackie who was her Bingo buddy as well as many other dear friends.
Ginny was predeceased by her two sisters, Mary Lou Kelly and Rita Rollins, her maternal grandparents, Emily and Joseph Dio Dato and her paternal grandparents Maude and Forrest Rollins.
Ginny’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Amedysis Hospice, the personnel at St. Joseph’s Cancer Center and Dr. Yameen for their extraordinary care of Ginny during her time of need as well as comforting her family during this difficult time.
Relatives and friends are invited to Ginny’s Funeral Mass on TUESDAY, February 1st at 11 AM in Parish of the Resurrection Church, 449 Broad Street, Nashua. Kindly meet at church. Her burial will take place at a later date. Donations may be made in Ginny’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
