Donald Earl Boggis Sr.

Donald Earl Boggis Sr. was born on March 7, 1932 in Nashua, NH to Dorris (Nichols) and Edward Boggis, Sr. He graduated from Nashua High School in 1950 and furthered his education during the four years he spent in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Most of his work years were at Raytheon in Andover, MA as an engineer.

He married Pauline Bedard in 1952. They were married for 69 years. They have six children: Donald, Jr., Ivy, Vint, Martin, Carl, and Greg; 11 grandchildren; Spencer, Sean, Hillary, Shane, Marcus, Joseph, Jamey, Danielle, Katie, Thomas, and Matthew; and three great-grandchildren: Ky-Mani, Liana, and Miles. Donald has one surviving sibling, his youngest sister Helen Jesse, three god-children; Gina Senecal, Robert Gabriel, Jr., and Alex Daigle. Donald is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews.

Donald was predeceased by his parents, and six siblings: Edward, Jr., Dorris, Earl, Robert, Alice, and Marion.

Donald and Pauline moved from Nashua to Milford in 1975 when they were involved in a group called Melendy Country, a group of six families who purchased land and built their houses. Many family and friends worked many weekends to help the Boggis family build their post and beam house.

As a couple, Donald and Pauline were involved in many charitable and environmental groups, including Christian Family Movement (CFM), SHARE in both Nashua and Milford, Workcamp, Souhegan Valley Coop conservation group, and Trailwrights, to name a few.

Donald retired from Raytheon 30 years ago and he and Pauline traveled widely in the USA as well as France, England, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, China, Jamaica, and Bermuda.

Don will be remembered for his wonderful kindness, generosity, and lovable personality by all who knew him. Donald and Pauline supported their children, grandchildren, and great grand-children tirelessly over the years attending games, practices, and school events.

Visiting hours will be held at Smith and Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elem Street, Milford, NH 03055 on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 PM. The family respectfully asks that all visitors wear a mask.

A graveside service with military honors followed by a celebration of Donald’s life will be held in the spring/summer of 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Share Outreach, Inc., 1 Columbus Avenue, Milford, NH 03055. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford.
