Albert ‘Al, Toppo’ Bruce Cheney

Albert “Al, Toppo” Bruce Cheney, 74, of Wilton, NH passed away surrounded by his family, on Monday, February 7, 2022. He was born September 11, 1947, in Nashua, NH to parents Frank and Lucy (Dunklee) Cheney.

Al was a proud Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Army from 1967 -1969. He went on to work for several companies as a truck driver. He loved to ride his Harley and was a member of the local chapter of the Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association. He enjoyed going for long car rides with his fiancée Brenda and was known to drive for several hours to try a new restaurant. He liked to go hunting with his friends Ricky and Charlie. He was also a member of the Teamsters.

Al was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed going to their sporting events and other activities. He was the property manager for St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church in Nashua, and he truly loved working there.

He is survived by his fiancée Brenda Wade of Wilton, NH; his daughters Lisa Spooner and her husband Roger of Mont Vernon, NH, Lori Koch and her husband Nathaniel of Hollis, NH; his brothers Normand Cheney of FL, Kenneth Cheney and his wife Dianne of Milford, NH, Wayne Cheney and his wife Amanda of Milford, NH; his sister Nellie Huard of Greenville, NH; his grandchildren Danielle Spooner of Brookline, NH, Chris Spooner and his wife Sarah of Nashua, NH, Samuel Koch of Hollis, NH, and Thomas Koch of Hollis, NH; and the mother of his children Nancy Cheney.

He is predeceased by his brother Frank “Buzz” Dunklee, Joseph Cheney, Charles Cheney, Richard Cheney, and Allen Cheney; his grandson Benjamin Koch; as well as several nephews who he loved dearly.

Family and friends are warmly welcomed to attend calling hours at the Michaud Funeral Home 32 Maple St. Wilton, NH on Thursday, February 10th from 5pm-8pm. A service will be held the following day with information to be released in the coming days. A burial will be held in the spring at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Wilton, NH.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Al’s name to the NH Chapter of the Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association. Donations can be sent to 40 Bridge St #210, Milford, NH 03055, Attn. Treasurer.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the doctors and staff at the St. Joseph Hospital Cancer Department for their compassionate care during this time.
