Derek Aaron Beaulieu
Derek Aaron Beaulieu passed away on May 19th, 2022, peacefully at home in his sleep, after a long illness.
Derek was born on July 14th, 1980 in Nashua, NH, and lived the majority of his life in Milford, NH. He was an exceptional athlete both in his youth with the MCAA, and at Milford High School from which he graduated in 1999, playing varsity baseball, basketball, soccer, and golf. He was an avid sports fan and loved Boston sports, especially the Boston Bruins, and New England Patriots. He also loved playing golf with his friends and family, as well as watching every televised golf tournament imaginable.
As much as Derek loved sports, he was equally in love with music and literature. Derek would have been just as happy being a lead guitarist in a rock band, as he would have been pitching for the Red Sox.
Derek graduated from Keene State University with a BA in History. He was a devoted member of the Sigma Lambda Chi fraternity. Known among his brothers as “Duke”, he was a well respected and beloved brother that defended the organization and its honor with utmost diligence. His brothers in Sigma loved Derek unconditionally, and Derek did the same. They were a very important piece of his life.
Derek was predeceased by his maternal grandparents William B. and Rita Von Iderstine, his paternal grandmother Janice Beaulieu, his uncle William E. Von Iderstine, and his great aunt Rose and great uncle Donald C. (Dutchie) Von Iderstine, all of Milford, NH.
Derek is survived by his parents David and Cheryl (Von Iderstine) Beaulieu, his brother Dana Beaulieu and wife Jessica Beaulieu and their daughter, his beloved niece Emily J. Beaulieu (his little EJ) whom he loved as his very own daughter. He is also survived by his uncle Robert Von Iderstine and wife Susanna, Aunts Darcy Atkinson and husband Bill and Karen Johnson and husband Dale, as well as multiple cousins and other extended family members.
Derek’s family would like to express their deep gratitude and appreciation to the dedicated staff of Home Health and Hospice Care of Merrimack for their kind and loving care and support for Derek in his final days at home.
