Priscilla ‘Scilla’ Anne Chamberlin
Priscilla “Scilla” Anne Chamberlin, 58, of Amherst, New Hampshire, passed away on Sept. 3, 2022, in the company of her loving son, Patrick, after a long battle with kidney disease. Scilla was born to Priscilla Searles Niemi and the late Robert Alexander Beauregard Sr. in 1963, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. After graduating from Hollis-Brookline High School, she married Amos Chamberlin, with whom she shared three children, Adam, Patrick and Rebekah. In August 2013, she met her devoted and beloved spouse, Michael Fraser, with whom she spent the remaining years of her life.
Scilla had a gift for making her loved ones feel special. She cherished time spent with her family. She loved being outdoors, whether sitting alone by the river in quiet contemplation, or gathering around a fire with Michael and their friends. A loyal friend, Scilla maintained many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed beautifying her surroundings in her signature, whimsical style. She loved live music, singing and dancing – even appearing on the dance floor at a concert in her final weeks. Scilla lived her life on her own terms and was dauntless in explaining those terms to anyone she felt needed clarification. Born hard-of-hearing, she was able to hear with the use of aids and, later, implants and, while she relished the ability to tune out what she didn’t want to hear, she was always ready to listen when a loved one needed to talk. She held fast to the belief that, come what may, life IS good.
Scilla is predeceased by her father, Robert Beauregard Sr.; her stepfather, Fred Oscar Niemi; her brother, Robert “Bobby” Alexander Beauregard Jr.; and her beloved niece, Linda-Joy Beauregard. She is survived by her spouse, Michael Fraser; her mother, Priscilla Niemi; her children, Adam, Patrick and Rebekah; her grandchildren, Elijah, Jacob and Ivan; her siblings, Robin Moran, Kelly Beauregard, and Jeffrey Beauregard; her lifelong best friends, Katherine Connors, Missie Trehern, and Krista Bunker-Lehoullier; and many other loving family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, from 12:30 to 4 p.m., at the Brookline Event Center, 32 Proctor Hill Road, Brookline, N.H. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to either the National Kidney Foundation or the Gary Sinise Foundation.
