David ‘Dave’ Andrew Fink

David “Dave” Andrew Fink, 86, longtime resident of Amherst, NH died on October 11, 2022 at The Arbors of Bedford, surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health.
He was born on September 19, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Andrew and Doris (Noble) Fink. Dave was raised and educated in Upper Darby, PA and attended the University of Pennsylvania. Dave served his country as a Marine and in the Army in France.
Dave’s true passion was work and providing for his family. A fourth generation railroader, Dave began his illustrious career as a clerk for the Pennsylvania Railroad and worked his way to President of New Englands’ largest freight railroad, Guilford Transportation Industries. Dave was the cofounder and President of Perma Treat Corporation, a creosote treated lumber company in Durham, CT. Prior to his retirement, Dave was President of Pan American World Airways and Boston and Maine Airways and President of Pan Am Systems.
During his 56 year career, Dave and his family lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and Connecticut before finally settling in New Hampshire. In retirement, Dave continued leveraging his business acumen making deals for boats and cars and spending time with his dog Victoria.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alecia “Ditty” (Carroll) Fink, his son David and his wife Linda of North Hampton, NH, his daughter Susan Kingman and her husband Philip of Concord, MA, and grandchildren Hillary Fink, Andrew Fink, Jackson Kingman and Catherine Kingman. He was preceded in death by his siblings Robert Fink, John Fink, and Nancy Walters.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM. A memorial service will begin at 11:15 AM in the funeral home Chapel, Burial will be private for the family in the Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst.
