Peter S. Swabowicz Jr.
Peter Stanley Swabowicz Jr., age 79, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Peter was the husband of Suzanne Swabowicz with whom he shared 53 loving years of marriage. He was the son of the late Peter and Adellia Swabowicz. Peter is survived by his children: Amy and Joseph Jordan, Ed and Jennifer Swabowicz, and Carrie and Vince Curtis. He was also the proud, doting grandfather to Peter Jordan, Thomas Jordan, Hannah Swabowicz, Haleigh Swabowicz, Brody Curtis, Mason Curtis, Alison Gibbs, Melanie Curtis and fiancé Matthew Burke, and his great grandchildren Silas, Moses, Juniper, Lily, and Sammy.
He is also survived by his brother Michael Swabowicz, his sister Nancy Asimakopoulos, and many in-laws, nephews, and nieces, all of whom he loved dearly. He was pre-deceased by his in-laws Roland and Yolande Gagnon, sister Elaine and Roland Dionne, sister-in-law Patricia Swabowicz, and nephew Peter Dionne.
Peter was born on June 22, 1943, and raised in Nashua, NH. Following his education in Nashua schools, Peter served in the Army in Vietnam and was a police officer in Nashua where he retired as a Lieutenant in 1990.
Peter was best known for being a generous family man. Peter loved fiercely and his family was everything to him. He was ever present in our lives. Everyone that met him could attest to how much he loved and cared for his family through his sometimes-embellished stories of their adventures and successes. He was always there for everyone whether they needed support, love, a few bucks, or some advice. His grandchildren loved him dearly whether they were laughing at his shenanigans, being teased, listening to his words of wisdom, or simply enjoying time with their Grandpa Pete. His phone call check-ins will be so missed by all.
Peter had many interests. You could find him placing a bet on the horse races at the casino, playing bid whist with his kids and grandkids, going out to dinner at a local eatery, shopping for bargains, or simply running a few errands for his children.
Most of all, Peter loved spending time with his wife, Sue. Together, they enjoyed traveling the world with family and friends. Peter loved to spoil his children and grandchildren with vacations like nothing else. They have countless memories from Disney, Universal, Cruises, Shin Pond, and his favorite destination, Aruba, where he travelled for over thirty years and made lifetime friends.
We are so sad for the loss of Peter – our loving husband, dad, grandfather, and friend. We are fortunate to have had such a wonderful man in our life. He will be deeply missed, forever in our hearts, and never forgotten.
