William “Bill” Richard Roberts Jr.

William “Bill” Richard Roberts Jr. of Hudson, NH passed peacefully at the age of 78 on Tuesday March 7th after a brief illness.

He was born in Bennington, VT, to parents Ruth E. (Richardson) and William R. Roberts Sr. of Claremont, NH. He attended Stevens High School graduating in 1963, and he played trombone in the school band. Growing up, he grew up as a member of the First Congregational Church in Claremont and was an officer of the Pilgrim Fellowship youth group. After graduating high school, Bill attended trade school and became a certified dental technician, graduating in 1965 in Boston, Ma.

He proudly served his country as a naval officer during Vietnam era from 1965-1969, attaining the rank of E-5. Bill was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and San Diego, CA during his time served.

Bill owned and operated his own company aptly named Crown Craft Dental Laboratory in Hudson, NH since 1976 and operating for over 40 years.

He enjoyed many diverse hobbies during his life. He was an avid skier, enjoyed hiking, sailing, and his work on his 35′ sailing boat named ‘Kerrydancer’. He was also an avid pilot and member of the Experimental Aircraft Association where he traveled to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for the annual EAA airshows. He was especially pleased of his work restoring a 1941 Aeronca side-by-side biplane, which he owned and flew out of Nashua, NH.

Bill met his wife Margaret “Peggy” nee Barton when they attended high school together in Claremont NH. Their relationship developed after reconnecting at their High School reunion in 2008, and they were married in 2010.

Following in the footsteps of his father, William Roberts Sr., Bill Jr. was a long-standing member of the Rotary Club. He served multiple terms as President and other active roles within the club at both the local and state levels. He attained the designation of Paul Harris Fellow, a distinguished award within the Rotary circles. One of his most memorable experiences was volunteering over 2 weeks on a trio to the island of Tobago where he provided healthcare to the locals who otherwise had little to no access.

Bill was a long-time member of the Bahá’í Faith, of which he served for many years on the Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Hudson, NH. He possessed a genuinely giving character, always looking to assist others in need in any way he could.

William R. Roberts is survived by his wife Margaret Roberts of Hudson, NH; his daughter from prior marriage Brianna (Roberts) Giguere, her husband Joseph Giguere and their daughters Lilyanna and Scarlett Giguere of Litchfield NH; stepdaughter Karen Boardman of Claremont NH; his sister Susan Brewer of Concord, NH, and her two sons, Richard Brewer of Boulder Creek, CA, and Karl Brewer of Cornish, NH, and his sister Mary Roberts of Delray Beach, FL and her husband Kevin Csjako.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St, Nashua, NH, 03064. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12 pm. A procession will be led to the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery, 101 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH, 03303, where the interment and Military Honors will be accorded.
