Ronald Gendron

Ronald Gendron, age 93, passed away at The Studley Home in Rochester, NH on March 31st after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Beverly (Leary) Gendron. Both were formerly of Nashua where they raised their family and lived for nearly 60 years.

Ron was born in Sanford, ME on August 23, 1929, son of the late Paul and Evangeline (Stone) Gendron. He was a graduate of University of Maine – Orono with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He was a veteran of the US Army in the Korean War era. After graduation and military service, he worked for Sperry Rand Corporation for a time and later spent thirty-three years working in various mechanical engineering and management roles for Sanders Associates.

Ron was an avid tennis player and enjoyed wintering in Winterhaven FL where he and Beverly spent twenty-five winters at their Florida home. He liked to spend time drawing and painting. He also enjoyed partaking in his children’s assorted projects over the years and was an accomplished DIY’r. His wife and family were the most important things in his life, and he was always there to help all five children.

Ron is survived by Beverly, his wife sixty-seven years. Three sons, Laurence of Strafford, NH. Gregory and his wife Marianne of Sarasota, FL. Thomas and his wife Linda, of Goffstown, NH. Daughters Susan of Mont Vernon, NH, and Mary and her husband Scott of Strafford, NH. Six grandchildren, Nicholas, Jessica, Ally, Amanda, Abby, and Tyler. He also leaves one brother, Raymond Gendron of Hudson, NH, two sisters, Lucille Hesse of Winchester, MA, and Paula St. Amand of Bedford, NH, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at St. Mary’s church in Rochester on April 24th at 9:00 AM with interment at 12:00 PM at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscowen. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
