Cynthia Bean

Apr 27, 2023

Cynthia “Cindy” Bean, age 71, passed away on April 19, 2023, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born on June 25, 1951, in Peterborough, NH, to Prescott “Pete” Peterson and Edith Elizabeth Peterson. Cindy attended Nashua Schools and Plymouth State College, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught in the Nashua School district for 35 years, touching the lives of countless students.

Cindy loved spending time with her grandchildren, her cat Sweetie, and family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, most notably to Machu Picchu, Peru, and to every city and town in New Hampshire, as she loved local history.

Cindy loved the beauty in nature and flower gardens. The beach and ocean were among her favorite places. Her talents included Zentangle and designing jewelry; she was ADK’s resident jeweler.

She was a silver sister in Alpha Delta Kappa, an International Honorary Sorority for Women Educators that provide clothing, food, and school supplies to Nashua school students as well as scholarships. In college, she was a member of Delta Zeta and remains close to her sorority sisters.

Cindy’s lifelong commitment to the community led her to fulfill her mother’s legacy when she was invited to join the New Hampshire Circle of Home and Family. Cindy also attended Beacon Church of Londonderry, where she gained great comfort from Pastor Adam Brucker during her illness.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Barry Bean of Litchfield, and their sons, Brian Bean of Litchfield, and Nicholas Bean of Nashua, along with his wife, Cortney. She was a proud grandmother to Jacob and Zachary Bean. She is also survived by her sister, Gail Peterson Perrault, and her husband, Ray, of Sun City, Arizona.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 11 am at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 4 Watson St, Nashua, NH 03064. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Those who wish to make a memorial donation in Cindy’s loving name may do so to Alpha Delta Kappa Nashua MU Chapter, c/o Leatha Warenda, The Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St, Nashua, NH 03064.

In lieu of traditional flowers, the family is asking for potted bulb plants or perennials so that Cindy’s love of “all things green” can be shared in her remembrance garden.

The Davis Funeral Home has been placed in charge of arrangements. An online guestbook is available at www.davisfuneralhomenh.com. (603)883-3401 “ONE MEMORY LIGHTS ANOTHER.”
