John J. Bobola Jr.

John J. Bobola Jr., 79, of Hudson died Saturday July 22, 2023 at Bridges by Epoch surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

John was born December 1,1943 in Durham, NC, son of the late John J. Bobola, Sr. and Onnie Mae (Helms) Bobola. He was predeceased by his wife, Judith “Judie” (Sarmento) Bobola, his sisters, Victoria Bobola and Joanne (Bobola) Basnett, and his brothers, Frank Bobola and Jackie Bobola.

He enjoyed vacationing with his family, including his grandchildren, driving truck, collecting guns, fishing and hunting, being a member of the Hudson Fish and Game Club, and talking to his bird Tony.

His survivors include two daughters, Janice (Bobola) Wiers and her husband Rick of Merrimack, NH, and Joyce (Bobola) Wise of Hudson. A son, James Bobola of Manchester, NH, five grandchildren, Benjamin Wiers, Jonathan White, Colby White, Elizabeth White, and Kyle Bobola, as well as 7 brothers; Steven Bobola and his wife Cheryl of Haverhill, MA, Andrew Bobola and his wife Debbie of Shallotte, NC, Peter Bobola and his wife Dianne of Derry, NH, Robert Bobola and his wife Maryanne of Exeter, NH, Richard Bobola and his wife Joanne of Derry, NH, Thomas Bobola and his wife Marylou of Pelham, NH, Timothy Bobola and his wife Lisa of Nottingham, NH, and 2 sisters, Nancy Bobola of Tyngsboro MA and Jeanne (Bobola) Scott and her husband Joseph of Pelham, NH; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Dumont Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street, Hudson, NH. A private graveside service will be held in the St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Johnny’s loving memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc., or a charity of your choice.
