George Fuller Jr
George A Fuller, Jr., 87, died on September 8, 2023 at Cedar Health Care in Portsmouth, NH. George was born on March 6, 1936 in Nashua, NH to the late George and Virginia Fuller. He resided for most of his life in Hudson, NH, attending Hudson schools and graduating from Alvirne High School.
George proudly served his country in the Air Force before returning to Hudson and marrying Joyce Carroll. They were married for 38 years until her death in 1998. George and Joyce had two children and adopted his brother, Joseph’s and sister-in-law, Margaret’s four children after their tragic deaths in the Delta Airline crash at Logan in 1973.
George was a long-time member of the Hudson Fire Department, starting as an Explorer and finally retiring as a Captain from the full-time department. He earned his certification as an EMT and he considered helping to deliver a baby at the fire station to be one of the highlights of his career. George also worked for many years as a truck driver for several trucking companies and finished his career working for Fuller Fuel Oil.
George was never happier than when he was behind the wheel of a vehicle – race car, Model A, 18-wheeler – he loved them all! During his lifetime, George rebuilt many cars, from Thunderbirds to Model A’s to Model T’s to MGB’s. He was a talented mechanic and very detail focused and patient in his creations. As a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, he built his own biplane, Libelle, and had the joy of flying it for several years.
George is survived by his children: Michael and Virginia Fuller, Georgia and Don Brussard, Lynn and Jon Congdon, and James Fuller, his five grandchildren, Jason Fuller, Tanya Fuller, Michael Brussard, Brad Congdon and Grady Congdon, and 7 great- grandchildren: McKenzi and Elizabeth Selph, AJ Fox, Axie, Leona and Ellis Fuller, and Ryker Brussard. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law Celeste Fuller, Susan and Jim Cobb, Roy Carroll, Jon and Katy Carroll, and Roland Michaud as well as his special friend, Roberta Richards. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. George was pre-deceased by his wife, Joyce (Carroll) Fuller, his parents George and Virginia Fuller, two of his children Jeffrey Fuller and Sheila Floyd, two of his granddaughters Chelsea Fuller and Tessa Brussard, his siblings Joseph, Gordon and Donald Fuller, and Carol Webster, his sisters-in-law Margaret Fuller, Barbara Michaud, and Sylvia Carroll.
