Kenneth (Ken) Burdette Dockter

Kenneth (Ken) Burdette Dockter, 84, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, 26 October 2023, at Catholic Medical Center, in Manchester, NH. He was born on 3 June 1939 in Boulder, Colorado, to the late Adam and Sylvia (Toppila) Dockter.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lana. They were married on 17 March 1962 in Silverton, OR. Ken is survived by his brother, Bruce Dockter and his wife Carol of Surprise, AZ, his two sons, Brent and wife Wendy of Western Springs, IL and Kevin of Hollis, NH., as well as, grandchildren Abigaile and husband, Jon Persson, Sophie, Samual, Virginia and Charlotte and his beloved cat, RAV.
Ken’s early life consisted of camping and fishing trips with the family out west and his love of camping and the outdoors was consistent throughout his life. Further, Ken enjoyed and held a deep love of the Boy Scouts, where he ultimately achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
He graduated from Oregon State University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources. He joined the United States Air Force on 25 June 1963 and proudly served for 20 years. He was stationed in St. Louis, MO, Japan, The Philippines, Korea, Pullman, WA, Great Falls, MT, Plattsburg, NY, and Bedford, MA. He retired at the rank of Major on 31 March 1983, and began his civilian life in Hollis, NH, where the family still lives. Following his time in the Air Force, he worked at Sanders/BAE before retiring in 1999.
Retired life included visiting relatives, going on many cruises, enjoying his love of gardening, being outdoors and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
SERVICES: A graveside service will take place Friday, 3, November 2023, at East Cemetery, 24 Wheeler Road, in Hollis, NH. Friends and family are invited to attend.
