Raymond (Ray) George Paulhus

Raymond (Ray) George Paulhus, 80, of Nashua NH passed away on May 25, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones after a short stay at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Raymond was born January 28, 1944 in Sanford, Maine, the last of 8 children. He is survived by his eldest sister, Adrienne Fagnant, who family said would outlive her siblings.

Raymond is preceded in death by his father, Onias Paulhus and his mother, Lena Paulhus (Labbe) and his siblings Jane Moisan, Claire Wormwood, Albert Paulhus, Doris Piers, and Gerard Paulhus and his son, Michael Paulhus, and his grandson Troy Graves.

He is survived by his four daughters, Suzanne Teal and husband Melvin Teal, Celeste Grimshaw and husband Paul Grimshaw, Colleen Paulhus, Jenifer Graves and husband Brent Graves. He leaves behind his loving girlfriend, Ginger Franchitto, who he said was better than a dream come true.

Raymond leaves 13 grandchildren; Richard Ingham, Daniel Ingham, Jacob Paulhus, Sarah Grimshaw, James Grimshaw, Reese Grimshaw, Lin Grimshaw, Sofie Young, Anna Young, George Young, Lilah Schezer, Cassie Graves, and Scarlett Graves. Also, three great-grandchildren; Wynter Graves, Adelaina Rooksberry and Oliver Ingham.

Raymond was a special father, grandfather and uncle. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews; Cheryl Brabble of North Carolina, Corine Baker, Celeste Lessard and Patty Ham of Maine, Denise Harrison of Connecticut, Kevin Moisan of Massachusetts, Richard Moisan of Alabama, Jeannine Sutherland, Anne Marie Niejadlik, Suzanne Mongeon, and Jackie Thurston of Massachusetts and Yvonne Paulhus of Florida. He also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews.

Raymond left high school to serve alongside his older brother, Albert Paulhus, in the U.S. Army and enlisted in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1964. He married Pauline Paulhus (Richard) in 1964 and they had five children, were married for 26 years until they divorced. He earned his high school GED and was known to be a hard worker and did many types of jobs to support his family. Raymond was also an entrepreneur and with the help of his wife began Sports Specialists by Paulhus, a sports seats company and received two patents for his seats and boot liners. He will be remembered for his commitment to his country, strong work ethic, and especially for his love of his family.

Raymond had a great sense of humor and loved freshwater fishing at Lucas Pond in Northwood N.H. and was known to get there ‘before the fish were up’. He loved watching Red Sox baseball games, going to bingo, which he often called his second job, and playing cards (hand and foot) with family members. His legacy will live on through the memories shared by those who knew and loved him. Raymond’s final resting place will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua, NH. where he will be interred with his mother.
