Marion Patricia (Lally) Schramm
Marion Patricia (Lally) Schramm, 82, of Leesburg, Florida (recently, Granite Bay, CA) died peacefully on November 3, 2024, at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Born to Marion and Edward Lally, she grew up in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York, with her sister, Sister Anne Lally (CSJ), brother Edward Lally, and sisters Madeline (Arleo) Beck and Pauline (Arleo) Kline. She graduated from Stella Maris High School in 1960. In 1965, she married John (Jack) Schramm and eventually gave birth to their three children: Michael, Mary Ellen, and Thomas. After a brief period of living in Queens, the family moved to Nashua, New Hampshire, where she and Jack raised their children. They took many camping trips together, including one from New Hampshire to California and back, on a route that led to a variety of national parks. Ever devoted to her family, she worked as an executive assistant at Digital Equipment Corporation in Merrimack, New Hampshire, to help put her children through college. In her forties, she became an evangelical Christian and worshiped at Amherst Christian Church.
In 2000, she and Jack moved to Leesburg, Florida, where they took up residence at Pennbrooke Fairways. There she joined the Red Hat Society, learned to play golf, and became an avid bingo player. Intermittently, she volunteered at the Leesburg Regional Medical Center and worked at the Orange County Convention Center. She and Jack often traveled throughout the United States to visit relatives and see sights. Highlights of her travels include a trip to the Grand Canyon for Mary Ellen’s wedding to Stephen Wayne, to Porto Alegre, Brazil, for Michael’s wedding to Ana Lucia Garcia Araujo, and to Ireland, to visit where her grandparents and other extended family lived.
Marion was predeceased by her daughter and grandson Gus Wayne, and is survived by her loving husband, sons, daughter-in-law Ana Lucia Schramm, son-in-law Stephen Wayne, grandson Owen Wayne, and granddaughter Olivia Schramm.
