Patricia Jean (Randell) Coyle
Patricia Jean (Randell) Coyle, 81, of Meredith, NH, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, after a period of declining health. Patricia was born on April 9, 1943, in Cambridge, MA, to Ralph Randell, originally from Newfoundland, and Isabelle (Kincaid) Randell of Ellsworth, Maine. She grew up in Concord, MA, with her three siblings, attending local schools.
In 1963, Patricia married Brian Coyle. The couple began their life together in Concord, eventually buying their first home in Townsend, MA, where they raised their family. During the 1970s, Patricia co-founded a successful deli and catering business alongside her lifelong friend, Beverly Napior. Overcoming the challenges of their time, they built a women-led business which was a great source of pride to them both.
Patricia and Brian later moved to Nashua, NH. Patricia worked as the Executive Chef at Thomas More College, a role she held for nearly 30 years, becoming beloved by students and staff alike.
In retirement, Patricia and Brian settled in Meredith, NH, with their cherished dog, Fiona. Patricia’s life was rich with creativity and kindness; she tended to beautiful herb and flower gardens, rehabilitated songbirds, and mastered French baking. An enthusiast of literature and poetry, she also found joy in antiquing, decorating, and creating memorable holiday tables. She loved traveling to Italy, Switzerland, and throughout the United States, including trips to Montana, Coastal Maine, various National Parks and enjoyed countless visits to her daughter and son-in-law in the Florida Keys. Patricia cherished time spent on the water, from kayaking the Assabet River to peaceful days on Lake Sunset in Vermont where she became a part of the Lake community developing a special bond with Mr. and Mrs. Mo and daughter Deb. Her warmth extended to everyone who entered her home, where she and Brian shared delicious, home-cooked meals and opened their doors to anyone in need.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Linda Bradford; brother, Robert Randell; grandson, Angus DeGraw; and son, Matthew Coyle. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Brian Coyle; her sister, Diane Nardone, of Livermore, ME; cousin, Norma Nicholson, of Winchendon, MA; her daughters, Suzy (Donald) DeGraw and grand dogs “Greta, Otto and Cosmo” of Orwell, VT; and Tricia (Christopher) Aiston; and her two grandsons, Willem and Rylan Aiston, of Mont Vernon, NH. Patricia also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and former students who continued to send her heartfelt letters of gratitude long after their time at Thomas More.
The family extends their deep appreciation to Dr. Maureen Hughes at Concord Hospital, as well as the caring staff at Granite State Home Health and Hospice, especially Lisa, Gayle,
