Alan Merton Gefen

Alan Merton Gefen, age 91 of Nashua, NH, passed away on Nov. 19, 2024, after a period of declining health. He was born to Rosalind and Bernard Gefen on Feb. 25. 1933, in Auburn, NY.

Alan, a graduate of Syracuse University, was known for his outgoing, friendly disposition and determined spirit. He was an avid sports fan who most closely followed his beloved Buffalo Bills (he was a season-ticketholder in the 1960s and early ’70s) and New York Yankees.

Alan was a veteran who served his country in the Army during the 1950s. He worked most of his life “on the road” throughout New England and Upstate New York as a manufacturer’s furniture representative, pausing for a few years to run his father’s furniture store in Albany, NY. He was also a proud member and past president of the Tyngsboro-Dunstable Rotary Club.

Alan is survived by wife of 46 years, Carol Gefen, of Nashua; daughter Mindy Shenker and her husband Mitchell of Frisco, TX; son Ed Gefen and his wife Robin of Jacksonville, FL.; son Jeffrey Gefen, of Nashua; stepdaughter Lori Minasian and her husband Timothy of Manchester; stepson Charles Watson of Nashua, and stepdaughter Christine Mills and her husband Steven of Amherst. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren –Tara Shenker of Frisco, TX; Laura G. McGuire and her husband Thomas of Largo, FL; Danny Gefen of Jacksonville, FL.; Brooke LaCasse and her husband Kevin of Merrimack; Jennifer Galipeault and her husband Jeremie of Concord; Kayla Watson of Windham, Conn.; Lukas Watson of Nashua; and Sarah Mills of Amherst –four great-grandchildren, a nephew, and a niece.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Inn at Fairview Memory Care facility in Hudson for providing care and comfort during Alan’s final years.

SERVICES: In accordance with the family, a memorial service will be held at a date to be determined. The Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St, Nashua, NH, has been placed in charge of arrangements.
