Marsha Cibotti
Marsha Cibotti, 82, born in Boston, MA, passed away peacefully in her home on November 11, 2024, surrounded by her family. The daughter of Swedish immigrants Ivar Natanael Wentzel and Klara (Andersen) Wentzel, Marsha grew up in Dedham, MA, with her brother Ivar Wentzel. Her father, a steelworker, provided for the family through the Great Depression and World War II, shaping Marsha’s own enduring strength.
Marsha married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Joseph Anthony Cibotti of Hyde Park, MA. Together, they embarked on a journey when Tom attended the United States Marine Corps Officer School in Quantico, VA where Marsha and Tom welcomed their first child, Lisa (Cibotti) Williams. She gave birth to TJ, their second son, while Tom served in Vietnam. Scott was born on Camp Lejeune, NC. After military life, they settled in Nashua, NH, where their youngest son, Dean, was born. Remarkably, she had 4 children in 5 years.
After her children were grown, Marsha began a meaningful second chapter as a paraprofessional at Nashua High School. Her kindness and patience left a lasting impact on the students she supported. A talented artist and long-time member of the Nashua Artist’s Society, Marsha found beauty in life’s quiet moments, which she captured in her paintings. Her art and spirit inspired those fortunate enough to know her, leaving a legacy of creativity and compassion. Unapologetically herself, Marsha could be stubborn. She seldom said “no”, instead guiding with a non-judgemental and loving hand.
In later years, Marsha moved to “the cottage” in Hull, MA, a life-long family retreat filled with memories. There, she enjoyed the warmth of the bay views from her porch, the sandy beach, going out to dinner, cocktails, drawing, painting, sewing, shopping, rearranging furniture, time on the couch watching a series, and time with her family. Her home and heart were sanctuaries for her family and friends.
Marsha, affectionately known as Mormor – Swedish for mother’s mother – is predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas (2007), and their eldest son, TJ (2016). She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Williams, and her husband, David, of Hampton, NH, along with their daughters, Jillian and Jexi Williams; her sons, Scott Cibotti of San Ramon, CA, and Dean Cibotti and his wife, Lori, of Bedford, NH, along with their children, Tyler, Ella, and Evan Cibotti.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Bedford, NH, on November 30 from 1-4 PM. If you would like to attend and share stories, please email celebratemarshacibotti@gmail.com for details. She will be laid to rest beside her son in Hull, MA.
In lieu of flowers, her family invites you to honor her memory by spending time with loved ones, sharing stories, and savoring a meal together–simple joys she treasured most.
