Susan Mary White
Susan Mary White (76) passed away peacefully at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH on November 15 at 11:55 pm.
Susan was born on December 23, 1947 at 2:23 am in Manchester, NH to Ellen and Anthony Marino. She grew up in Lawrence, MA and attended the local schools there before eventually settling in Nashua, NH.
Susan worked as a clerk for the Hillsborough County Superior Court for many years before retiring in February of 2010. She found retirement boring, so she went back to work there part-time for a few years. Susan also continued her part-time job at Palmer’s Cleaners until ill health made her retire. Susan was a life-long Jimi Hendrix fan, amateur astrologer, and professional cat lady. Her greatest achievement was being the best Nana ever to her beloved granddaughter.
Susan is survived by her sons Collin White (Kristen) of Danvers, MA and Patrick White (Andrew) of Fort McMurray, Alberta; granddaughter Bridget White of Danvers, MA; sisters Katherine Dunn of Londonderry, NH and Marilyn Marino of Tucson, AZ; as well as beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Jerilyn, and brother Anthony Jr.
We are reminded of a quote by Hendrix: “I’m the one who’s got to die when it’s time for me to die, so let me live my life the way I want to.”
Susan’s ashes, along with those of her cats, Holly, Melvin, and Sammy will be interred with the planting of a memorial tree in early Summer 2025. The family requests that you honor Susan’s memory with a charitable gift to your local animal rescue organization.
