Shirley Rita Casey
Shirley Casey, born April, 13, 1928, in Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on November 23, 2024, at the remarkable age of 96. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Jeremiah Casey, and raised their family in Nashua, NH. Fiercely independent and unapologetically stubborn, Shirley lived life on her own terms, embracing each moment with humor, determination, and a competitive spirit.
She enjoyed holding part time jobs at Rivier College, Nashua Corporation and the FAA Center in Nashua. Shirley and Jeremiah retired early and spent their early golden years traveling the country in their motor home. They found great joy in visiting countless destinations and forming treasured memories with friends they met throughout their travels. Those adventures, filled with laughter and connections, were among Shirley’s most cherished times as well as card games, beach picnics and scenic car rides. Ultimately she retired to her home in North Port, Florida some 40 years ago.
Shirley loved her family and was a proud mother. She leaves behind her son, Jeremiah Casey III, and daughter, Kathleen Casey Maynard, her granddaughters Danielle Casey (and husband Sam Alsop), and Callan Maynard (and husband Tim Sullivan), her great granddaughter Zoe Sullivan, and her sister Pat Trujillo, along with a legacy of resilience, humor, and the reminder to savor every moment. Her life serves as an enduring reminder to embrace every moment, make the most of what you have and live boldly; on your own terms. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, John and Ida Walsh and her son-in- law Steven Maynard. Shirley will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A mass will be held in Nashua, NH at a later date followed by a burial in Fall River, Mass.
