Scott Douglas Toms
Scott Douglas Toms, 56 of Nashua, NH died after a courageous and hard fought 6 year battle with
cancer on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Born May 27, 1968, in Lowell, MA, he was the son of Jeanne Marie (Alton) Toms and the late Douglas
Scott Toms. He married Heather Lu (Williams) Toms on December 31, 1990, in Nashua and celebrated 34
years of marriage together.
Scott was a graduate of Nashua High School South, class of 1987. After high school, Scott attended
college and received an associates degree. He went on to become an electrician, and formerly worked for Custom Electric, Merrimack YMCA, Nashua Telegraph and recently Mercier Electric, a company that not only was very supportive through 6 years of treatments, surgeries, and side effects, but has continued to care for and support his family.
Scott was very involved in church, serving as Deacon at Burns Hill Christian Fellowship, the
Vice-President of Harbinger Bible Conference and more recently a member of Souhegan Valley Christian Church in Amherst.
Scott enjoyed helping others, was actively involved with the church, and enjoyed building projects of all kinds, but his passion was spending time with his family. He recently went on vacation to Cancun with the family and enjoyed every minute of it.
He is survived by his loving wife Heather and five children; son Joshua Toms and his fiancé Erica and their daughter Kirby; daughter, Hannah Toms; son Daniel Toms and his fiancé Cassidy; son Jared Toms and his fiancé Bailey; daughter, Christa Toms; mother Jeanne Toms; sister Nance (Toms) Gillies and her husband Jeffrey; brother, John Toms and his wife Lisa and their two sons, Michael and Jakob; as well as many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends he considered family.
SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the Souhegan Valley Christian Church, 134 Hollis Rd., Amherst, NH 03031. Visiting hours will be held at the church from 9:00 am – 11:00 (prior to the service). Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua, NH.
