David W. Lindsay, Sr.

David W. Lindsay, Sr., 77, of Merrimack, NH passed away on Friday, December 13th, 2024 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Weymouth, MA on August 8, 1947, he was one of six children of the late Mary Rose (Greco) and Thomas Joseph Lindsay, Sr. He was raised in Weymouth, MA, and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1966. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Southern New Hampshire University in 1971 and worked for the telephone company for many years, ending his career as a telecommunications engineer.

David proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and received his honorable discharge in 1976. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing the trumpet, swimming and attending classes at the YMCA. When he was younger he ran triathlons and played softball and golf.

Along with his parents, he was pre-deceased by his son William “Billy” Lindsay in 2020.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 55 years, Betsy (Conroy) Lindsay; five children, Christine Lindsay-Abaire and her husband David, Douglas Lindsay and his wife Karen, Deborah Coppola and her husband Michael, Jennie Lindsay-Kelley and her wife Andrea and David Lindsay, Jr., and his wife Beth; 10 grandchildren’ and five siblings, Marsha Crawford, Thomas Lindsay, Jr., and his wife Evelyn, William Lindsay and his wife Karen, Richard Lindsay and his wife Teresa, and Jeanne Dempsey and her husband Michael, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

There are no services being held at this time. A graveside service will take place at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen at a later date. Service information will be updated on the funeral home website when scheduled.
