Sandra J. Fraser

Sandra J. Fraser, 88, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died on December 29, 2024, at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH, after a period of declining health.

She was born on June 25, 1936, in Keene, NH, a daughter of the late Gordon and Lillian (Jacobson) Bemis.

Sandra was raised and educated in Keene, NH, and graduated from Keene High School. She married Bruce E. Fraser in 1957 and together settled first in Hingham, MA then Buffalo, NY, and finally in Amherst, NH since 1972.

She worked for many years in the banking industry, mainly as a bank teller. She retired from Bank of America.

Sandra was very active in the Congregational Church of Amherst. She and Bruce were on many committees, and both served as deacons. She also enjoyed being in the garden club, traveling to Maine, especially Wells Beach and playing bridge. Sandra and Bruce really enjoyed antiquing, they would travel far and wide to find some treasures. Sandra had a very active and supportive network of friends within the Amherst community. She will be greatly missed by many.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, two brothers, her loving husband, Bruce Fraser, and her grandson, Matthew E. Feddersen.

Survivors include her children, Cathy and her husband John McKay of Newton, NJ, Andrea and her husband John Feddersen of Holliston, MA, Carrie and her husband Tom Ozzella of E. Orleans, MA, Brooks Fraser of Amherst, NH and Alyce E. “Beth” Fraser of Merrimack, NH, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and her two sisters.

SERVICES: In accordance with her wishes no calling hours will be held. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Congregational Church of Amherst, NH, 11 Church Street, Amherst, NH. Burial will be in the spring in the Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Sandra can be made to either to the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH or to the Nashua Center, Nashua, NH.
