Paul R. Duquette Sr.
Paul R. Duquette Sr., 82, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, after a period of declining health. A man of immense humility, humor, and devotion, Paul lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose. Born on August 20, 1942, to Augusta and Paul Duquette, Paul grew up in Nashua, where his natural athletic talent and determination led him to excel in football during the iconic Buzz Harvey coaching years. His passion for the game earned him a spot playing football at the New Mexico Military Institute and later at the University of Cincinnati. Paul’s career was a cornerstone of his identity. After returning to Nashua, he began his professional life as a dedicated Nashua police officer. He later found his true calling as a longtime industrial arts teacher and football coach at Nashua High School. Paul considered himself blessed to work alongside some of the greatest students, athletes, and coaches in the world. He poured his heart into shaping the lives of those he mentored, instilling values of hard work, integrity, and teamwork. Outside of work, Paul embraced life with zest and joy. He loved cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events and musical performances, which brought him the greatest happiness. His other passions included boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, traveling to Martha’s Vineyard, and rooting for his favorite football teams. Paul was deeply devoted to his family. For 59 years, he adored his beloved wife, Carol (Greenlaw) Duquette, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories.
He leaves behind three sons, who each carry forward his legacy of love and dedication: Paul Duquette Jr., his wife Ingrid, and their children Samantha Mickey, her husband David, and their children Fitzgerald and Remington, and Ashley Duquette; Kevin Duquette, his wife Shirleen, and their children Jack and Savannah Duquette; Robert Duquette, his wife Amanda, and his children Stella and Luke. Paul is also survived by his dear sister, Sharlene Parker, his sisters-in-law Gail Morrisey and her husband Paul, and Judy Kitchen and her husband Chuck. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Richard Duquette, with whom he shared a close bond, playing high school football together and forming a friendship that went beyond mere family ties. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles spanning from California to Connecticut, New Hampshire, and beyond. Paul’s humble spirit, unwavering support for his loved ones, and infectious happiness will be dearly missed. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and a commitment to family that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in 2025 to honor his memory. Rest in peace, Paul, as your extraordinary life and spirit continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know you. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester NH.
