John Frank Lastowka Jr.
John Frank Lastowka Jr., 82, longtime resident of Merrimack, NH passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11th, 2025.
Born in Nashua, NH on December 7, 1942, he was the son of the late John Frank and Evelyn Agnes (Breen) Lester and graduated from Alvirne High School class of 1961.
John’s professional career with the phone company spanned over 30 years before his retirement from Verizon where he was involved with special services. During his time with Verizon, he was awarded the prestigious “Employee of the Year” award in 1998. He then went on to develop All-Tech Communications, specializing in fiber optics.
John was very involved with the Merrimack Historical Society; he was the current president. He also owned Maple Gate Farm in Merrimack NH, where he partnered with UNH and Cornell University on the development of grapevines, heritage apples and blueberries.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Judith Ann (Golden) Lastowka in 2018
He will be forever loved and remembered by his daughter Lisa Doyle and her fiancé Steven Dahms; son, Jeffrey Lastowka and his wife Alicia; grandchildren, Patrick Doyle, Kelly Doyle, and Emily Noury; a great-grandson, Clayton Noury; his companion, Orma Thompson; and his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Tilly.
Visitation hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH on Thursday, January 16th, 2025 from 3 – 6 PM. Burial will be held at the Holy Cross Lithuanian Cemetery in Hudson, NH on Friday, January 17th at 11 AM. Followed by a luncheon at the Merrimack Historical Society, 10 Depot Street.
