William “Bill” F. Hill

William “Bill” F. Hill, 83, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the Merrimack Community Hospice House. Born in Nashua on April 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Archie Hill and Antosa (Milenavich) Hill. He was the beloved husband of the late Maureen (Lyons) Hill, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage.

A lifelong resident of Nashua, Bill graduated from Nashua High School in 1959. During his high school years, he was an accomplished pitcher for the baseball team and served as the football manager under his mentor, Buzz Harvey. Bill’s passion for baseball continued after high school, where he played semi-professionally for the Nashua Dodgers and other local teams. Later in life, he embraced coaching youth baseball for Nashua South Little League, where he shared his love of the game with his three sons and countless young athletes.

Bill dedicated his career to public service, proudly serving 23 years as a Nashua Police Officer retiring as an accomplished detective and an additional 18 years with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. His commitment to his community and his strong sense of duty left a lasting impact on those he served.

In his leisure time, Bill enjoyed many activities, including playing golf, hunting, and traveling–especially to his favorite destination, Aruba with is significant other, Betty Ledoux. He was also an enthusiastic gambler and cherished time spent with his family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren and their accomplishments. He was a member of the Tyngsboro Sportsman Club and the Nashua Elks for 60 years.

Bill is survived by his three sons: Bill Hill and his wife Christine, Shawn Hill and his wife Jennifer, and Jeff Hill and his wife Melissa. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Meghan, Alexander, Jordan, Alyssa, Sabrina, and Hadley, who brought him endless pride and joy. Bill is further survived by his siblings: Diane Hill, Richard Hill, Sue Blouin and her husband Bob, and Beverly Hill, as well as his longtime significant other, Betty Ledoux.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. A funeral mass will follow the next day, Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis St, Nashua, NH 03062. Family and friends are invited to attend. Interment and committal prayers will be held privately for the family.
