Robert (Bob) Jay Cagen
Robert (Bob) Jay Cagen, 79, of Nashua, NH, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. He was born February 19, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, to parents Milton and Ruth Cagen. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Comras) Cagen, marrying on June 26, 1966. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage before Linda’s passing in February 2012.
Bob owned and operated Myoptic in downtown Nashua for over 30 years. He took pride in his work and valued the relationships he made. It was his second home and third child. His customers were his friends, and his friends were his customers. He made everyone feel special. He had the unique ability to make everyone feel better when they left his store. Bob had the strength to wear his heart on his sleeve.
Bob loved the finer things in life and appreciated high-end sports cars, fashion, and huskies. He enjoyed sitting at Mike’s Italian Restaurant and socializing with friends new and old. On Fridays and Sundays, you could find him at Stella Blu. Everywhere he went, people knew him, and he knew everyone. For Bob, sitting outside with a cocktail in hand with the sun shining was, ‘what life was all about.’
Besides his loving wife, he is predeceased by his father Milton Cagen, mother Ruth Cagen, and brother Jerry Cagen.
Robert is survived by his son Michael Cagen, daughter Elizabeth Cagen and her husband, Tim Lefort, grandson Chase Lefort, brother Rick Cagen, and dearest friends, Marylou Blaisdell and Eillen Kelly.
